Minus a Chest Tube...One step closer to the door!!!

Trent had a big day yesterday. He was able to get one of his chest drainage tubes out, the dressing removed from his incision, a peripheral IV pulled and is now on room air (with only occasional blow by oxygen) . Yay! He slept a good while after he had all that excitement. And had some pain off and on yesterday afternoon.

Last evening he had lots of visitors, which perked up his spirits. He was able to see big brother Braxton again!! He read with Aunt Amy and ate popsicles with Braxton and his cousin, Eva. He ate fairly well all day yesterday.

He is still having some challenges with getting up and moving around much.  There are spurts of energy (small ones) here and there where he is talking, laughing, and acting like he feels good. He even walked a little in the hall last night. We like those moments. They show us how he's going to be when he gets to break out of this joint. Then all of a sudden he'll get really tired and ready to get back in bed.

He had some pain last night and this morning and is having some challenges with his tummy. The nurse has given him some meds to try and help him. He is resting well this afternoon. We hope that he'll wake up perky and ready to get up and move around some.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who have kept and helped out with Braxton while Mom and Dad have been away. Also, as is always the case, we cannot thank you all enough for all the texts, fb posts, calls, visits, gifts, food, runs, coffee and most of all the PRAYERS!!! We truly believe in the power of prayer.

Heart Hugs,
Wayne, Holly, Braxton and Trent
