Not a whole lot has changed since we last posted. Trent is still doing well and camping out on the 8th floor of Levine.
He stayed here with Daddy last night while Mama went home to get some rest and spend some time with Big Bro. Daddy and Trent had some strong male bonding time. They went on the rooftop to watch a movie. Then, after 11pm last night, Mama gets a picture message with wide-eyed Trent sitting in bed eating Goldfish. Today they played BINGO in Trent's room and went to a pizza party in one of the play rooms. He also had a couple of sweet visitors.
Not much has changed medically with Trent in the last day. In yesterday's post we mentioned that they had taken the suction off of his chest tubes to determine if it was getting close to time to remove them. Well, shortly after that post Trent had not put out any fluid and was having some major pain. Of course, he still does not understand how to tell us what hurts. So they put the suction back on due to fear of that being a cause of his pain. Shortly after the suction was put back on they gave him some Oxycodone and he felt much better. He also dumped a good bit of fluid from his chest once the suction was back on. The NP told us that as long as the tubes are in that we have to be careful to stay ahead of his pain. In rounds this morning they contemplated possibly removing his chest tubes today. However, it turns out that they want to monitor his output another day. We should know more tomorrow, after his chest x-ray, about the possibility of removing the tubes.
As we sit here tonight watching our little guy sleep. His oxygen saturation is around 95% (with no help)!! Woooo hooo!!
Once again thank you all for the support and prayers!! They truly mean the world to us.
Heart hugs,
Wayne, Holly, Braxton and Trent
