Merry Christmas from a very special half-a-heart hero guy! Trent has been doing so well lately. We are so very thankful that he has been so well throughout the cold and flu season so far. Right now he does have a pretty nasty cough/cold thing going on, but we think it's just one of those normal kid things. (hopefully)

It has been a good little while since we sent out an update on Trent. Not much has been happening with him medically. He continues to do really well...meaning he is growing and acting just like a normal baby/toddler. Of course he's still Mama's baby even though he is getting so big and independent. He began walking a couple of months ago and is a real pro at it now. He is talking up a storm and trying to mimic what we say quite regularly. We love to hear him say "bye ya'll" and "shut the door". I know we are partial, but he really is a sweet kid. He is so easy going and laid back. He doesn't really get excited about much at all. He is almost always smiling and playing. Some of his favorite things to do are playing outside and riding the lawn mower with his daddy. In the mornings he likes to run to the kitchen window and pull up the blinds to watch Daddy leave for work.

Camping Out at Levine
To make a long story short...Trent has been fighting with something for several weeks now. First, he was treated by his pediatrician for what they thought could be RSV (a couple of times), then he was treated for Croup last week. After he had a pretty rough Saturday night/Sunday with coughing,

February is Heart Awareness Month
I recently read a blog from some of our good friends who also have a son with HLHS. In this blog they took the time to share something very important to all, especially to those who have a child or know someone with a CHD, or congenital heart defect. They really gave their listening audience something to think about so we want to do the same for our listening audience.

The Adventures of Trent
Trent has had many adventures since the last time we blogged...so this one is going to be a long one. We took him on his first overnight trip (well except for hospital stays) in early December. We stayed at a b&b in Boone, NC. The boys had a blast riding the golf cart and swinging on the rope swing, as well as hanging out around the beautiful property. The property owners were the nicest folks ever. They just loved our boys and made us feel right at home. Trent loved trying to catch the fish in their indoor goldfish pond.
