Hello friends and family. Welcome to Baby Trent's blog. Trent is our son who is scheduled to be born March 22 at 5:00 pm. Trent will be born with HLHS (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome), a serious heart condition where the left side of his heart has not developed or is severely underdeveloped. There is no fix for
HLHS. However, there is a series of surgeries that can keep Trent alive and help him live a fairly normal life. The first in the series of surgeries will occur in the first week of his life. We have a link posted on this page to a site that will teach you all you want to know about HLHS.
Inspired by another story of another baby with the same condition, Holly and I would love to share our story as we take the journey that God has chosen us for. Bowen is the baby boy of the lead singer for "Sanctus Real", a really cool christian band. We have a link to their website, www.bowensheart.com, posted on our page. We encourage you to check out their story as well.
This is the first "blog" we have ever done so bear with us, we are learning as we go. We do ask that you pray for us daily and we welcome your encouragement daily as well. We are not sure what our lives will look like in the next year or even several years but we do know that God is still in control.

Hey you two! We tried to call you tonight. We heard the good news that Trent is having his first surgery tomorrow morning. Just know we will be praying! We love you and will be there with food in hand around 6:00 or 6:30 tomorrow evening. Please call us if you need us to bring anything else. We love you!!
